Event Details

Organizing Authority (OA): CPYC/BHHR
Eligibility: Open to Boston Harbor Handicap Racing, Cottage Park Yacht Club, Constitution Yacht Club, Hingham Bay Racing, and all registered 2024 MBSA members with a valid 2024 ORR-ez certificate.

Registration

• All yachts must register online at www.regattaman.com before 1500 hrs. on the race day.
• Check-in online or verbally with the Race Committee (RC) boat before the First Warning Signal.
• GBRS entry fee is included with your home fleet’s twilight series fees.

Sailing Instructions

• The race will be governed by the Mass Bay Sailing Association (MBSA) General Sailing Instructions (GSI) and Event Sailing Instructions (ESI).
• Notice to Competitors will be posted online at www.regattaman.com.
• Signals made ashore on VHF channel 72; course information announced over the radio and posted on the RC boat.

Schedule of Races

• GBRS – Rumble II will consist of one race.
• First Warning Signal at 1830.

Racing Area

• Held in the vicinity of Yellow Nun “E,” 1 + miles west of Deer Island Light.

Classes and Courses

• Classes assigned based on the 2024 MBSA “Spin” Class Splits.
• Class courses from Cottage Park Yacht Club Wednesday Night Racing.
• Class flags displayed from backstay or stern railing.

Starting Procedure

• Combined class starts based on RRS 26 in ‘reverse’ order.
• Rolling starts with subsequent class warning signals following the starting signal of the previous class.

Time Limits and Penalties

• Two hours time limit for each class.
• One-Turn Penalty for rule infractions as per RRS 44.1.
• Protests must be filed by 1830 on the day following the race.

Scoring

• ORR-ez Random Leg Medium rating, adjusted at the discretion of the RC.
• Combined results of the 3 Greater Boston Rumble Series races for MBSA Season Championship Qualifier.
• Series results scored using the Low Point System.

• Overall GBRS winners announced at the MBSA Awards Dinner.
