At CPYC, we take pride in supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s mission of granting life-changing wishes to children facing critical illnesses. Since 1995, our dedicated members have been actively involved in this noble cause, raising funds and organizing a regatta that has become a highlight of our summer calendar. The CPYC Regatta to benefit Make-A-Wish is a thrilling event that spans an entire weekend, featuring exciting races for youth sailors, one-design sailboats, and the Boston Harbor handicap fleet. It’s an opportunity for sailing enthusiasts to come together, compete, and contribute to making dreams come true for Make-A-Wish children.
Our goal for 2024 is to raise $75,000, enabling us to fulfill the wishes of seven deserving children. With your generous support, we can achieve this milestone and create lasting memories for them.
About Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island
Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. A wish can be a spark that helps a child believe anything is possible. In the face of life-threatening medical conditions, wishes enable children to experience profound joy, renewed strength and resiliency, and lasting hope to keep striving and dreaming for the future. Together with generous supporters and 450+ volunteers, the organization has granted the wishes of over 10,000 children in Massachusetts and Rhode Island since its founding, and its vision is to grant the wish of every medically eligible child. About Cottage Park Yacht Club
Cottage Park Yacht Club has been a cornerstone of yachting in Boston Harbor since its establishment in 1902. From its humble beginnings in a former steamship ticket office, CPYC has grown into a vibrant community that embraces sailing, boating, social gatherings, and more. We welcome individuals and families to join us in a variety of activities and make lasting memories at our club. Our annual calendar is filled with exciting events, including the much-anticipated Make-A-Wish weekend held each summer in early August.
Ways to Participate
Join us Saturday for a Regatta Celebration to benefit Make-A-Wish.
The event begins at 3 p.m. with a party on the dock as the racers come off the water. The Sunset bar will be open and there will be activities for children. The fun moves into the Westerly with appetizers at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6. The evening features an auction and an exciting selection of raffles for all ages along with music and dancing. Reserve your spot now, for $30 a person, and be part of this fundraising tradition.

The 30th annual event promises exhilarating competition and a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children facing critical illnesses. There are three races this year. We encourage participants who are eligible to participate to join us for a day filled with thrilling races and camaraderie on the water.
To ensure smooth organization and support for this charitable event, there is a nominal entry fee. We kindly request that boats registering after August 2th make a $25 donation in addition to the entry fee. Additionally, dinner tickets for the Saturday, August 3 Dinner are available for purchase at $30 each, allowing you to enjoy a delightful evening while supporting the cause.
The race will take place in the picturesque waters of Boston Harbor, creating scenic and challenging course areas that are sure to delight participants and spectators alike.

Make-a-Wish is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and you may receive a tax benefit for your contributions to the event. Please make checks payable to Make-A-Wish Foundation Massachusetts and Rhode Island and mail to the Cottage Park Yacht Club at 76 Orlando Avenue, Winthrop MA 02152 to the attention of Make-A-Wish Regatta.
