Today was the first day of the JFK regatta, and also two fleet races. Was blowing well over 20 when we were hanging out at the dock. Hatch decided to give us over an hour postponement. When we started the wind was just over 15 from the Northwest, and shifted back and forth all the way over to the East. By the end of the day we were fighting to the finish in winds one step above a drifter. Sunny, 70s.
We started down by Deer Island light, and rode the shifty and puffy righties up the shore to one of green channel markers near the airport. Very tight racing. Slightly disappointed with just 7 boats racing, but it's only the first weekend.
Congrats to newly anointed Grand Master John Siljander with Bob McKie for winning the first race of the season in style. And welcome back Joe Zambella and Mark Sokolich who won the day with consistency.

Thanks Hatch, Jim and Elaine for two tough races.
