8 boats. We started just inside of Deer Island, and sailed up shore towards the club in two Windward-Leeward 2x courses. The wind was very puffy 5-15 with 30+ degree shifts.
In the first race, most of the fleet short-tacked the shore while Team Costa hit the left corner pretty hard, pulled a horizon job at the weather mark, and never looked back. Woods/Paton spent most of the race no higher than fourth, but at the end of the last downwind leg, Larson/Hofmann, and Housman/Donnelly sailed towards Deer Island into a hole, while Woods/Paton stayed towards the middle for more breeze, to nip them both at the finish.
By taking second, Woods/Paton clinched the 2000 Fleet Championship.
Thanks Jim, Hatch and Dev for the RC work.
