Pretty hot on land, but a gorgeous day to be on the water. We waited for about 30 minutes for the wind to fill, but the first race started around noon.
The breeze started from 190 degrees about 5 knots, and halfway through the first race shifted to 140 degrees, and began to build to 8-12 for race 2.
The first race was from the airport pier to Spectacle Island. 2, 3, and 4 were from the airport pier to Deer Island. Big mistake not hugging the Deer Island Shore heading up to the yellow markers. If you blew the start and were forced to tack, you were screwed....
Short courses kept the racing very tight all day with crowded mark roundings.
Kenny and Howard seemed to tweak things up a notch to get better each successive race and win the last race.
Great to see newcomers Rob Hitchcock and Greg Hefler join our racing, and a bunch of new(er) crews.
