November 5, 2006
After having been
completely blown out on Oct. 29, we had the opposite problem:
light and variable
winds finally dying by the end of the afternoon. Combine that
with an extreme full-moon tidal current, and most of us ended
the day drifting backwards down the channel. Nevertheless,
we got in 3 solid races. Special congratulations to Dave
Carlson for being the only sailor to finish the fourth race before the
wind died. Mike Gahan's barbecue and Rose Carney's chowder
were excellent, though, and we welcomed many new sailors.
